2022 Event List:

July 31st 2022 I’ll be reading at Shade Bar in NYC for Noir at the Bar hosted by Jen Conley and Scott Adlerberg, with Lee Matthew Goldberg, Roger Nokes, Dennis Tafoya, and John Foster.

July 21-24 2022 will be attending NeCon 40 in Lowell MA, and I have a story in the 40th anniversary NeCon anthology. The Guests of Honor include Joe R. Lansdale, Bracken MacLeod, and Cassandra Khaw.

March 23rd: Montclair Literary Festival, at the Crescent room in First Congregational Church

Writing New Jersey: Unique Challenges, Unique Stories. Montclair author Thomas Pluck (Bad Boy Boogie), chats with Jen Conley (Cannibals and Other Stories from the Edge of the Pine Barrens), Wallace Stroby, (Some Die Nameless), Dave White, (the Jackson Donne series), and Marina Cramer (Roads) about the pros and cons of being New Jersey writers in NYC-centric publishing, and what makes New Jersey fascinating to write about.

March 28-31, I am registered for Left Coast Crime in Vancouver. I will be on the Bringing Heart to Dark Stories panel moderated by Josh Stallings, with Robin Templeton, Barbara Petty, and Timothy Hallinan, on Saturday morning at 9:00AM. I will also be reading at Noir at the Bar Vancouver Thursday night, with a great roster of writers:

July 19-21st. I am registered for NeCon, the North East Writer’s Conference.

Bouchercon is a maybe this year, but I’ll try to make it to Dallas.

Monday December 3rd, I will be at the launch for the Skin & Bones anthology at The Mysterious Bookshop, from 6:30PM on. Lawrence Block will be attending, as will the editor Dana C. Kabel.

Sunday April 29th, Noir at the Bar Asbury Park! I don’t know the line-up yet, but Jay Butkowski always puts on a great event. At Capitoline’s Basement in Asbury Park, 7:00 PM until all the noir is gone. 639 Cookman Ave, Asbury Park. Come early- this is during the Asbury Park Music & Film festival!

Tuesday April 3rd, KGB Bar Reading Series with the Mystery Writers of America. This old bar’s a favorite, located at 85 East 4th Street in Manhattan. Join us, comrade.

Thursday, February 8th at 7:00 PM: The official launch of my story collection Life During Wartime at Watchung Booksellers in Montclair! Snacks and a brief reading and a Q&A.

Wednesday, February 21st at 6:30 PM: Life During Wartime  and Slaughterhouse Blues signing event with Nick Kolakowski at The Mysterious Bookshop. Join me and Nick for a night of noir. One week after Valentine’s Day, your heart will have recovered.

Thursday, March 8th at 6:00 PM: A Montclair Authors Meet & Greet at Sotheby’s, 32 Valley Rd, Montclair, NJ. Come join us for wine and cheese and rub suede elbow patches with local Montclair authors! I’ll be in the corner eating all the Gruyere.

March 11, Chicago:  Murder & Mayhem in Chicago. I will be attending the convention.

April 2, Manhattan, 6:00PM: Reading at Noir at the Bar NYC, at Shade, 241 Sullivan Street, with Jen Conley, Scott Adlerberg, Charles Salzberg, S.A. Solomon, Tim O’Mara, Seamus Scanlon, Nina Mansfield, and Vincent Zandri.

April 18, Queens, 7:00PM: Book reading and signing at Astoria Bookshop in Queens with authors Alex Segura, Rob Hart, and Julia Dahl.

April 21, Manhattan, 6:30PM: Reading and signing at the official premiere at The Mysterious Bookshop in Manhattan until 8:30PM. With wine, beer, and snacks. In conversation with crime writer and critic extraordinaire Scott Adlerberg.

April 27, Montclair NJ, 7:00PM: Reading and signing with Alex Segura, of the Pete Fernandez noir novels, at Watchung Booksellers in Montclair until 8:00PM. There will be wine, Louisiana beer, and snacks. Jersey crime writer Dave White will be refereeing this no holds barred cage match.

May 6th, Morris Plains NJ, 4:00PM: I will be reading and signing at the Morris Plains Barnes & Noble with fellow Jersey crime writers Jen Conley and Dave White.

May 20, West Hollywood, CA, 4:00PM: Reading at Book Soup with Josh Stallings, Eric Beetner, S.W. Lauden, Duane Swierczynski, and Nolan Knight. Address: 8818 Sunset Blvd., West Hollywood.

May 28th, Queens Lit Fest: Reading at Noir at the Bar at LIC Landing, 52-10 Center Blvd, Long Island City, 6:00 PM, with Sarah Weinman, SJ Rozan, Cathi Stoler, SA Solomon, Jen Conley, Scott Adlerberg, and Alex Segura.

June 8th, New York Public LibrarySelf-Publishing: Is it Right for You? A panel with Laura K. Curtis, held at the Ottendorfer Branch, 135 2nd Ave, at 5:30 PM.

July 22nd, East Side Comics: I will be signing at my favorite local comic book shop.

August 5th: Farley’s Bookshop, New Hope PA. Signing at the store with fellow author Jen Conley, Saturday from 1pm to 4pm. Beers afterward at Triumph Brewing! Farley’s a is a great bookshop, come visit.

August 12th: KGB Bar Reading with Mystery Writers of America. 7pm-9pm on Saturday at KGB Bar. Privyet, koreshi… let us read the crime “fiction.”

September 17th, Brooklyn: Brooklyn Book Festival. Sunday, I will be at the Mystery Writers of America table from 10:00 to 12:00, and at the Down & Out Books table from 12:00 to 14:00. Signing books and limbs and demonstrating proper beer guzzlage and Instant Pull-my-finger Death Touch. The festival is located at 209 Joralemon St, Brooklyn, NY– aka Brooklyn Borough Hall. Down & Out is at Booth #301, and the MWA has Booth #516.

October 7th, Washington D.C.: Noir at the Bar. Saturday, 19:00 at the Wonderland Ballroom, with Austin S. Camacho, Nik Korpon, Tara Laskowski, Josh Pachter, Eryk Pruitt, Laura Ellen Scott, Amber Sparks, and Art Taylor. Hosted by E.A. Aymar. The Wonderland Ballroom is located at 1101 Kenyon St NW, Washington, DC. They are giving away a SWORD to the audience favorite… there can be only one!

October 11-15th, Toronto: Bouchercon. I am booked and eager to visit Toronto again. I’m moderating a panel on Friday at 8:30am, Beautiful Brutality? The panel consists of Chris Holm, Bryon Quertermous, E. C. Diskin, Amy Stuart, and Sara Jayne Townsend. October 29th, Asbury Park: Noir at the Bar! at Capitoline‘s Basement Bar. A great lineup in that Jerseyest of towns… 6:00PM.

November 4, Milwaukee: I will be a guest author at Murder & Mayhem in Milwaukee.

December 7th, Mysterious Bookshop: Signing for Alive in Shape and ColorTime to be determined, 6:30PM. I will be signing the anthology edited by Lawrence Block with my fellow anthologees, including LB himself, Lee Child, Joyce Carol Oates, Sarah Weinman, Jonathan Santlofer, Jill Block, and others.  You should probably show up by 6:00 to be sure of a seat.
